ROCHESTER, Minn. – Willmar completed a two-game sweep of the Rochester Honkers with a 7-1 victory at Mayo Field Tuesday night.

The Stingers used two big innings to secure the win Tuesday with three runs in the third and four in the eighth. Four different Stingers had multi-hit games, including each of the first three batters in the lineup.

Hunter Dozier (Stephen F. Austin) led the offensive attack with a 2-for-3 day at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored. Mitch Rowan (San Francisco), Forrestt Allday (Central Arkansas) and Steven Brault (Regis) had two hits apiece as well. Brault leads the team with four multi-hit games in seven contests this year.

Scott Lieser (St. Cloud State) earned the win after going seven innings, allowing only one run on five hits while striking out four. Josh Hoekstra (Minnesota State) and Andre Wheeler (Texas Tech) each pitched an inning of scoreless relief.

The Stingers return to Willmar for a three-game homestand at Bill Taunton Stadium beginning Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
