DULUTH, Minn. – Willmar plated eight runs on seven hits in the first three innings to give them all the offense they would need in an 8-3 victory against the Duluth Huskies at Wade Stadium Wednesday night.

Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast) keyed the Willmar (7-8) offense with a 3-for-3 performance in the first three innings, knocking in three runs with two doubles to increase his team-leading totals to 15 RBIs and five two-base hits. Suchy also stole his fourth base of the season.

Jon Flinn (Hawaii) earned his first victory for Willmar, holding Duluth (9-6) to three runs on five hits in 5-1/3 innings. Scott Lieser (St. Cloud State) pitched the final 3-2/3 innings to earn his first save of the season. Lieser struck out five while not walking anybody.

Hunter Dozier (Stephen F. Austin) had a strong day at the plate, getting hits in each of his first three at-bats and finishing the day 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Andre Wheeler (Texas Tech) went 1-for-2 with a double, a stolen base, two walks, a sacrifice bunt and a run scored. Forrestt Allday (Central Arkansas) scored two runs while picking up an RBI for the Stingers, and Zach Benson (Stephen F. Austin) had an RBI single in the second inning to go along with a stolen base.

Willmar returns home from a five-game road trip with a 7:05 game against Thunder Bay at Bill Taunton Stadium Thursday night. It will mark the first of four-straight home contests for the Stingers.
