WILLMAR, Minn. – Corben Green’s RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Stingers a 4-3 victory Wednesday night against St. Cloud in their first game at Bill Taunton Stadium in 10 days.

The Stingers trailed on two different occasions, 2-0 in the third inning and 3-2 in the fourth, but Willmar tied the game each time. The Stingers did not get their first lead of the night until Green’s (Louisiana Monroe) single brought home Hunter Dozier (Stephen F. Austin) in the seventh.  The base hit extended Green’s hitting streak to 17 games and gave him his 26th RBI of the season.

Willmar came back from its first deficit in the third inning when Kenny Roberts (Alabama) hit a double to center field to score Dozier and Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast) to tie the game, 2-2. Roberts hit two doubles in the contest and also stole two bases in the game on a perfect 3-for-3 night at the plate.

After a solo home run by Carlos Lopez gave the Rox the lead back in the top of the fourth, the Stingers tied it again with an RBI single by Mitch Rowan (San Francisco) to drive home Zach Benson (Stephen F. Austin). Benson went 2-for-4 in the game. Eight different starters had a hit in the game, as the Stingers outhit St. Cloud 12-5 in the contest.
