WILLMAR, Minn. – Tonight’s Northwoods League game between the Willmar Stingers and the Mankato MoonDogs has been postponed to August 6 due to unplayable field conditions. Bill Taunton Stadium received more than two inches of rainfall Monday through Wednesday morning.   Field maintenance crew members drained more than 1,000 gallons of water from the playing surface at Bill Taunton Stadium Wednesday, yet standing water remained in both the infield and outfield.

The game will be rescheduled on Sat., August 6 at Bill Taunton Stadium at 1:05 p.m.  The regularly scheduled game on August 6 will remain at 7:05 p.m.  Both games will be nine inning games.  Fans with Westside Liquor Diamond View tickets, box seat tickets, reserved tickets or general seating tickets for Wednesday night’s game can exchange them for a ticket to any future Willmar Stingers home game based on availability.  Tonight’s guaranteed Win Night presented by Erbert’s and Gerberts will be rescheduled for tomorrow night.  The first 250 fans will receive an envelope with different amounts of comet cash.

The Stingers’ next home game is also \”Hot Dog Hundo Night\” Thurs., June 23, against the Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers. Various dollar bills will be located inside hot dog wrappers and one lucky fan will win $100 just for purchasing a hot dog. First pitch will be at 7:05 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m.
