Three former Willmar Stingers were ranked in Baseball America’s Top 50 players for each college class released Monday.

Lefthander Colin Poche (Arkansas) was the No. 30-ranked sophomore, outfielder Michael Suchy (Florida Gulf Coast) was the No. 50 junior and righthander Jake Stinnett (Maryland) was the No. 47 senior.

Last month, Suchy was ranked by Baseball America (BA) as the No. 51 overall college prospect for the 2014 MLB draft.
BA also released its preseason team rankings. N.C. State, featuring former Stinger Andrew Woeck in its bullpen, came in at No. 5. Woeck primarily started for the Stingers, but could compete for the closer role for the Wolfpack. “Woeck figures to be the anchor (of the bullpen) thanks to his fearlessness and his command of a high-80s fastball, a quality 83-84 cutter, a short 76-78 breaking ball and a solid 77-78 changeup,” according to the BA report.
