SPRINGDALE, Ark. – Drafted out of Stephen F Austin State University in the first round of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft as the eighth overall selection, Hunter Dozier continued his ascent through the Royals farm system with a promotion to Double-A Northwest Arkansas on Wednesday.

BaseballProspectus.com rated Dozier among the top 100 prospects heading into this year, and he reaches his fourth level in professional baseball less than a year after making his debut for Idaho Falls on June 20 last season. Dozier has a career .302 average at the professional level in 135 games, while also hitting 11 home runs with 91 RBI and 10 stolen bases. For Wilmington in 2014, Dozier batted .295 with four home runs, seven stolen bases and 39 runs batted in prior to his promotion Wednesday.

MLB.com considered Dozier the sixth best prospect in the Royals minor leagues heading into this season. He also comes in at number nine among top third base prospects across the Major Leagues.
