Dixon, Kehner & Bailey set to play in Willmar

Willmar, Minn. – The Willmar Stingers are excited to announce the addition of three more players to the 2015 roster. The signings of Troy Dixon (St. John’s University), Brian Kehner (Presbyterian College) and Bradley Bailey (University of North Alabama) bring the total number of committed players to twenty-eight for the upcoming season of Stingers baseball, their sixth in the Northwoods League.
 
Dixon, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, is a catcher from St. John’s University in Queens, NY. Dixon has seen a lot of action throughout this season making 31 appearances, including 22 starts. With a .291 batting average, has shown a wide range of hitting ability. Dixon leads the team in triples (2) and is second in slugging percentage (.430). In 2014 as a freshman, he made 33 starts (40 appearances) with a .284 batting average, 5 doubles and 16 runs batted in.
 
Kehner, a 5-foot-11 sophomore, is a left-handed pitcher for the Presbyterian College Blue Hose. He has made 22 appearances this season, including 4 starts, with 37 innings pitched and 3 saves. Kehner has a 1-1 record and has compiled 35 strikeouts, which is tops among all Blue Hose relievers. As a freshman, Kehner made his collegiate debut against the University of South Carolina allowing 1 run and striking out a season high 6 batters over 5 2/3 innings. Overall, he made 17 appearances and threw 45 innings during the 2014 season.
 
Bailey, a 6-foot-1 sophomore left-hander, has been a valuable arm for the North Alabama Lions out of the bullpen. This season Bailey has 11 strikeouts in his 9 2/3 innings on the mound. In 2014 as a freshman, Bailey pitched in 19 games with a 2-1 record. Over the course of his 30 innings pitched, he had 21 strikeouts and only 12 walks.
