WILLMAR, Minn. – The Willmar Stingers are excited to announce that the organization will be hosting the annual Northwoods League meetings this October at the Willmar Conference Center. Nearly 100 front office members, from all 20 franchises, will be in attendance for this year’s fall conference.

“By being able to host the meetings, it gives our organization a chance to showcase the city of Willmar and show our colleagues the new changes made at Bill Taunton Stadium this past year,” said Stingers co-owner Ryan Voz.

Over the course of three days, teams will get together and review the past season sharing best-practices, new ideas that were implemented, and strategies to improve operations going forward. These meetings give each franchise an opportunity to begin preparations for next season, while developing strategies to enhance the experience for both their fans and players.

The Northwoods League, beginning play in 1994, will celebrate their 25th Anniversary with the 2018 season. Turnstiles at all 20 ballparks were busy this summer once again as over 1.1 Million fans attended games throughout the season. Generating those levels of attendance figures is something that the league takes great pride in, having surpassed the one-million fan plateau every year since 2014.

A valuable training ground for coaches, umpires and front office staff, more than 170 former Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball, including two-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer (WAS), two-time World Series Champion Ben Zobrist (CHC) and MLB All-Stars Chris Sale (BOS), Jordan Zimmermann (DET), Curtis Granderson (NYM) and Lucas Duda (NYM).

Season tickets for the 2018 season, the Stingers ninth in the Northwoods League, are available for sale now. If you would like more information on tickets for the 2018 season, or more information regarding this press release, please contact the Willmar Stingers front office at 320-222-2010 or visit www.willmarstingers.com.

The 2018 season is presented by Marcus Construction. “From start to finish we’ll make your job easier and build a facility you will be proud of.”
