Willmar, Minn.-  After falling to the Thunder Bay Border Cats 3-2 on Thursday, the Willmar Stingers bounced back on Friday defeating Thunder Bay 7-2.

Behind a solid pitching performance from Michael Bohlke (Bethel) the Willmar Stingers turned the page against Thunder Bay.

Bohlke on the mound, went five strong innings, allowing only one earned run and striking out two.

Bohlke was backed by timely hitting from Cal Elvers (Miami(OH)), Richie Garcia (Florida Gulf Coast), and Brett Bello (Sacramento City).

Behind the RBI knocks and some unearned runs scored after Border Cat errors, the Stingers were able to crawl ahead and eventually break it wide open in the seventh, scoring two.

Corey Binger (Minnesota State, Mankato) debuted for the Stingers going three innings in relief, striking out four and giving up just one hit and being tallied with the win.

In the ninth, Michael Cartwright (Cal-State Northridge) debuted as well closing the door on Thunder Bay giving the Stingers the 7-2 victory.

Next up for Willmar is a short two game road trip to Waterloo to face the Bucks.

The first game of the two game series is Saturday at 6:35 p.m.
