Waterloo, Iowa- After losing 8-4 on Saturday night, the stingers bounced back nicely on Sunday defeating Waterloo 5-1.

The Stingers win came behind an excellent pitching performance by Nick Dentoni (Delta) who went five innings, giving up just four hits, allowing just one earned run and striking out seven Bucks.

Offensively for the Stingers Keaunu Dizor (San Diego Mesa) had an RBI hit, while the big blow in the game came off the bat of Jayson Newman (Cal-State Northridge) who belted a 3-run shot, over the right-center field wall, off of Buck’s reliever Michael Sebby (Illinois State) in the seventh. The homer was the first for the Stingers this season.

Behind solid Relief work from Jake Marsh (Bethel) and Bryant Claunch (Northern Alabama) the Stingers cruised to a 5-1 victory.

Next up for the Stingers is a two game series back at Bill Taunton Stadium against the Mankato Moondogs.
