Willmar, Minn.- Starting a two game series off against the Mankato Moondogs at home, the Willmar Stingers could not take the opener falling 7-1. However, there was a new bright spot in the lineup for the Stingers.

During a 7-1 loss that saw the Stingers trailing for the majority of the game, Tyler Reichenborn (Iowa Western) returned in style. Reichenborn who played for the Stingers back in 2017 rejoined the team Monday night at promptly went two for two with a long ball and a double.  Although the Stingers were beaten, the outing from the center fielder is a bright spot to build on for Willmar.

On the hill in this one Braden Scott (Olney Central) was not as sharp as he was during his first outing of the season but he still was able to strike out seven Moondogs and only allowed four runs, working well around traffic.

Defensively Zack Mathis (Delta) played very well making a pair of phenomenal double play turns early on in the game from left field.

Willmar will look to rebound and take on Mankato in game two tomorrow night at 7:05 in Willmar.
