Thunder Bay, Ontario- After an exciting win on Wednesday night against Mankato, the Willmar Stingers traveled to Thunder Bay in Canada to start a two game set with the Border Cats.

It was a pitching duel throughout between Willmar’s Trevor Divinski (Minnesota State) and Thunder Bay’s Alex Nolan (Brock University).

Divinski did give up two runs in his first five innings of work but quickly settled down not giving up another run after that. Divinski ended up going seven innings, striking out six, giving up just six hits, allowing two earned runs and walking no Thunder Bay batters.

Nolan on the other hand surrendered just three hits and was throwing a perfect game into the seventh.

Willmar’s lone run came on a 1-3 put out off the bat of John Trousdale (Alabama), scoring Jaxon Hallmark (Nebraska).

In the ninth Andrew Gross (Texas At Arlington) shut the door on the Stingers striking out the side and earning the save.

Willmar will get another shot at Thunder Bay Tomorrow night at 7:05 pm ET.
