Willmar, Minn.- In the final game of a four game home stand, the Willmar Stingers sent their fans home happy defeating the Duluth Huskies by a final score of 5-4.

The Stingers got a nice start out of Louie Varland (Concordia, St.Paul) who went six innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out six.

Willmar for a second straight day showed off the power getting a second inning two-run home run off the bat of their lead off man Matt Rudick (San Diego St), and later in the ball game another two-run shot from Richie Garcia (Florida Gulf Cost) which game the Stingers the lead at 5-3.

Jake Drew (NDSU) got the save in the ninth, with the Stingers winning 5-4.

The Winning pitcher tonight was Braxton Johns (Georgia Southern) who went 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball.

Willmar ends their four game home stand winning all four and now they hit the road, starting tomorrow night in Rochester.
