Willmar, Minn.- The Willmar Stingers defeated the Mankato MoonDogs on Saturday night by a final score of 11-9.

The Stingers scored in all but one inning in which they had the opportunity to bat.   It started in the first with a Tyler Reichenborn (St. Louis) solo homer, giving Willmar an early 1-0 lead.

Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) was on fire in this one going 4/5, tallying 3 RBIs and earning CDI player of the night honors.

Willmar tallied 18 hits in the ball game and did not commit any errors.

In the ninth Mankato made it interesting scoring six of their own runs and bringing the score to within two.

Jayson Newman (Cal-State Northridge) came in and got the save. The final play of the game was a single up the middle, that saw Jaxon Hallmark (Nebraska) gun a runner out at third from center field.

Louie Varland (Concordia St. Paul) got the win going six innings and allowing just two runs.

Willmar got the win and will take their momentum into Bismarck for a matchup with the Larks at 3:05 tomorrow afternoon.
