St. Cloud, Minn.- In an absolute classic of a pitching duel, the Willmar Stingers dropped an 11 inning ball game to the St. Cloud Rox early Sunday Evening.

Combined, both teams only had five hits, two for Willmar and three for the Rox.

Willmar’s starter, Jonathan McKinney (Georgia Gwinnett), was spectacular. McKinney went 6.2 innings, struck out seven Rox, and only allowed one base hit. McKinney has now struck out 19 batters in his last 13.2 innings.

Neither team could crack the scoreboard until the bottom of the 11th inning, when  St. Cloud’s Bobby Seymour (Wake Forest), hit a walk-off sacrifice fly to center to give the Rox a 1-0 victory.

Willmar will play St. Cloud one more time this season in a split city series next weekend before the all-star break.
