La Crosse, Wis.- On Sunday evening the Willmar Stingers fell to the La Crosse Loggers in a close and hard fought affair.

The Stingers fell behind early as La Crosse put up a five spot in the first inning.

In the second inning the Stingers started climbing back. Jaxon Hallmark (Nebraska) had an RBI single scoring Eric Yang (UC Santa Barbara) and Matt Rudick (San Diego St.) drove in two with an RBI single to left.

In the fifth inning the Stingers tied it up with an RBI single from Joey Ortiz (New Mexico St) and a bases loaded walk from Shea Kramer (Utah).

In the sixth Willmar took the lead. Hallmark smashed a triple down the right field line giving the Stingers a 6-5 lead.

La Crosse in the bottom half of the inning put up three and in the eighth put up a two spot.

Willmar got two in the ninth but ultimately fell 10-8.

Noah Fluman (San Diego St.) was very good out of the bullpen. Fluman went 5.2 innings, gave up just three hits and two runs.

Willmar travels to Eau Claire next for a double header tomorrow.
