Duluth, Minn.—The Stingers drop the opening game of the second half to Duluth 1-0. Willmar will be back in action against the Huskies tomorrow to finish the two-game series.

He was phenomenal on the mound completing seven innings. Zigan allowed one unearned run and gave up nine hits. Jack Zigan was efficient on the bump for Willmar striking out four batters without issuing a walk.

Timely hitting was an issue tonight as the Stingers were shut out for the first time all summer. The leadoff batter reached base in five of the nine innings played tonight. The Stingers were unable to bring a run across after ample scoring opportunities. Andrew Lucas (Northridge) led the team at the plate going 2-4.

Chris Peres (La Verne) pitched the eighth inning for the Stingers. He pitched a scoreless inning while only issuing one walk. The Huskies scored a lone run in the bottom of the third.
