Willmar, Minn.—The Stingers and Rochester Honkers needed extra innings to decide tonight’s game at Mayo Field in Rochester, MN. After 11 innings of baseball, the Stingers came out on the wrong end of the scoreboard with a final score of 6-5.

Jack Zigan (Minn. State-Mankato) took to the mound tonight for the Stingers as they began a series in Rochester. Zigan threw pitched six innings striking out three batters and only giving up 4 runs.

The Stingers’ offense was led by Brennan McKenzie (Cal Poly Pomona) and Daniel Walsh (Sacramento City). McKenzie had two hits, including a 2-run home run to get the Stingers on the board in the top of the first inning. Walsh, who is batting .300 for the season, added a pair of singles as well.

After trading runs in the top of the tenth inning, the Honkers were able to push across the go ahead run in the eleventh inning. Willmar will finish their series with Rochester tomorrow for an afternoon game with the first pitch scheduled for 1:05pm CT.
