Eau Claire, Minn.—The Stingers were defeated tonight by the Eau Claire Express 2-0. That closes the book on Willmar’s 10th anniversary season after an electric sweep of St. Cloud in the first round of the playoffs.

Trevor Divinski (Minn. State-Mankato) made the start on the mound for Willmar. He allowed one run off four hits through five innings of work. Divinski walked one batter and struck out three. The game was held scoreless through the first three innings of play. The Express took the lead in the fourth when two hits scored a one. 1-0 Express.

Masen Palmier (Missouri Baptist) was first in relief for the Stingers. He gave up three hits and allowed one run in his inning of work. 2-0 Express. Sam Baier (Augustana) broke up the combined no-hitter the Express were on in the seventh with an infield single.

Casey Dykstra (Azusa Pacific) was lights out in for the last two innings of the game. He struck out two and didn’t allow a hit in his outing. The Stingers were unable to rally in the ninth inning. Timely hitting was not a factor tonight as the Stingers left nine men on base. The final score was 2-0 as the Express eliminated the Stingers in the Great Plains Division Championship.
