Willmar, Minn. – The Stingers win big for the second consecutive night over Eau Claire behind a great game by starter Jack Zigan.

Zigan, from Minnesota State Mankato, tossed six innings of shutout ball, allowing four hits and striking out 12.

In his first appearance, relief pitcher Kenten Egbert threw three shutout innings insuring the shutout.

Willmar’s bats stay hot tonight, starting with Tanner Tweedt’s solo home run in the fourth. That was the first of three runs that would come in that inning.

The Stingers added five more in the fifth, with four of those runs coming with nobody out. All nine batters came up to the plate in the fifth frame.

Willmar then added one in the eighth on a single by Brett Bateman to make the lead 9-0, which was the final.

The Stingers go back on the road, with the first of two coming up Friday in Rochester. First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m.
