Willmar, Minn. – The Stingers win tonight in come-from-behind fashion 7-6 in the first of two over Waterloo.

In the bottom of the eighth, Reid Homan lined an RBI triple up the right-center field gap to score two to tie the game. Later in the inning, Daniel Sayre grounded a single into left to score the go-ahead run.

Jacob Webb came in out of the bullpen and shut the door in the ninth to nail down the win and his second save of the season.

Willmar got on the board first in the opening inning on an RBI single by Tyler Small. The Stingers added two more in the third on RBI hits by Asa Awbry and TJ Curd. Waterloo responded with a four-run fourth in which 10 batters came up to the plate and added two more to their lead in the sixth.

Game 2 of the series with the Bucks will be Wednesday night, June 9, from Bill Taunton Stadium. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
