St. Cloud, Minn – The Stingers fall in extra innings for the second time this year. They drop Sunday afternoon’s game to the Rox 3-2 in 10 innings.

Rox shortstop Jack Winkler hit a walk-off single to left field, scoring Justin Kirby from second to secure their 12th consecutive win.

Stingers scored first back in the second inning. They had the bases loaded with no one out, and Blake Shannon (in his Stingers debut) grounded into a 4-6-3 double play, scoring Drey Dirksen from third.

St. Cloud bounced back to tie the game in the bottom of the third, when Bobby Goodloe knocked in Caleb Ricketts with a single.

The game remained scoreless until the eighth, when Reid Homan doubled in Chandler Freeman to give Willmar a 2-1 lead.

Then, in the bottom of the eighth, with two outs, Chandler Freeman was squeezed by the home plate umpire, and walked two consecutive batters to tie the game.

Jacob Webb came in to finish the eighth and threw a scoreless ninth.

The Stingers are at home Monday night against Rochester. First pitch from Bill Taunton Stadium is 7:05 p.m.
