Eau Claire, Wis. – The offense came alive for the Stingers Tuesday night, defeating the Express 15-11 in a shootout at Carson Park.

Eau Claire scored three times in the bottom of the first on an RBI single, error and groundout.

The Stingers responded with three more to tie the game in the top of the second on RBI singles by Carter Howell and Grant Kerry. In the third, the Stingers scored six times to take a 9-3 lead. Express pitching walked four consecutive batters, two with the bases loaded. This was then followed by another RBI single by Howell, bases loaded walk by Kerry and a sac fly by Hamiter. Twelve batters stepped up to the plate for Willmar.

Eau Claire responded to cut the lead to 9-6 after three. The Stingers scored six more unanswered in the fourth and fifth to lead 15-6.  The Express scored the final five runs in the game, including two in the ninth.

The Stingers are back on the Homefront for a doubleheader on Wednesday against the La Crosse Loggers. First pitch for Game 1 is set for 12:05 p.m., and Game 2 is set for 7:05 p.m.
