Willmar, MN-The Stingers are excited to announce the return of two players who spent time in Willmar last season. Grant Kerry and Dylan Matela are set to wear the black and yellow for the 2nd season.

Grant Kerry is a redshirt sophomore at Northeast Nazarene University (NNU). Kerry is a native of Wynyard, England where he played soccer, cricket, basketball, volleyball, and golf in high school. Last year with the Stingers, he hit a .313 batting average and drove in 31 RBI in 128 at-bats. This season with NNU, Kerry is currently hitting .299 and is leading the team in HR with five.

Dylan Matela joined Georgia State University as a redshirt sophomore after transferring this past year from Furman. He only appeared in three games for Furman but was ranked the #4 prospect in the Southern Conference for the 2022 MLB Draft by Perfect Game. For the Stingers last year, Matela made 16 appearences and struck out 28 batters in 32.1 innings pitched.

The Stingers open their season on May 30th in Rochester against the Honkers. The home opener is Wednesday, June 1st against the Eau Claire Express.
