ST. CLOUD, MN – The Willmar Stingers fell to the St. Cloud Rox tonight, 10-0.

The Stingers were unable to get anything on the board in the first game of the second half. The Rox came out firing right away and Willmar couldn’t respond.

The Stingers ended the game with two hits. The first of which came from the first at-bat of the night.

Brett Bateman sent a ball to center field to start off the game and then stole a base. He was named the MinnWest Technology Campus Player of the Game.

The second hit would come on the second to last batter of the game when Zac Corbin beat out a thrown on an infield single.

The Rox scored in every inning except two. They started off scoring five in the first two innings and were able to double their lead by the ninth inning. They were able to hit five extra-base hits including a John Nett home run in the seventh.

The win would go to St. Cloud’s Joseph Brandon and the loss would be given to Willmar’s Smith Pinson.

The Stingers are looking to tie the series tomorrow when the Rox enter the BeeHive for the final of the 2022 Highway 23 Rivalry series.
