WILLMAR, MN- After sweeping Bismarck, Willmar (3-1) turns their focus to Minot to conclude the Stingers’ North Dakota road trip.

Early on Kevin Fitzer (Aliso Viejo, Calif.) has been the player to watch. This season, Fitzer is batting .357 with five hits, five runs and six RBI. In game two against Bismarck, Fitzer was named  MinnWest Technology Campus player of the game after collecting four hits in seven at-bats with two home runs.

On the bump, fans will see the hard throwing righthander Ryan Wiltse (Fresno, Calif.) who is from Saint Mary’s-California. He will look to continue his solid pitching that he exhibited collegiately. In 18 games, he started eight, posting a 4-2 record. In 60.2 innings, he had an impressive 59 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .251 batting average.

As a pitching staff, Willmar has a team ERA of 4.33. Offensively, the Stingers also lead the Northwoods League in doubles and are tied for first with Traverse City in the runs scored category (19).

Minot has struggled in their first six games of the season going just 1-5. However, the Hot Tots have 27 RBI including six by Thomas Rollauer (Atlanta, GA). Rollauer has been the leader for the Hot Tots posting a .444 batting average, including eight hits in 18 AB.

Gage Yost (Rosemount, MN) will be on the hill for the Hot Tots as they face off with the Stingers for a pair of mid-week series. This spring, Yost starred for Minot State where he had a 5.04 ERA, and 44 strikeouts in 46.1 innings. 

First pitch is at 5:35 at Corbett Field in Minot, N.D.
