The Willmar Stingers (10-2) and Mankato MoonDogs (7-7) will match up for the second time this season in a home-and- home series on June 11 and June 12.
The two teams took the field just three days ago when the Stingers swept the MoonDogs on June 9 at ISG Field in Mankato on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College.
For Mankato, they will look to continue the momentum after beating the Great Plains East Division Leaders the Rochester Honkers at home on June 10.
Willmar will also look to continue the winning ways after winning five of the last six games (including a sweep over Waterloo).
A player to watch for the MoonDogs is Dustin Crenshaw (Grand Canyon University) who continues his terror at the plate posting a .600 batting average, and 12 hits. As a team Mankato is batting .244.
For Willmar, the player to lookout for is Drey Dirksen (Augustana University). Dirksen is batting .444 and went 3 for 4 in his season debut for the Stingers. This performance included a solo shot to give Willmar a lead in game one of the Waterloo series. As a team Willmar is batting .296.
On the bump for the Stingers, Marcos Herrand will make his Willmar debut. Herrand played his spring ball at Coppin State University, posting a 5.19 ERA and struck out 74 batters in 86.2 innings of work. As a team, Willmar has an ERA of 3.74.
Game 1 of the series will be at 7:05 (Bill Taunton Stadium) and Game 2 will be played at 6:35 (ISG Field)
