WILLMAR, MN.- Three Willmar Stingers are set to swing for the fences on Monday for the Great Plains All-Star Home Run Challenge.

Kevin Fitzer, Sean Rimmer and Drey Dirksen are three of the nine participants who will be representing the Great Plains West.

Fitzer is one of six players in the Northwoods League with 10 or more home runs this season.

The California State Northridge product hit that total on Monday when he sent home run No. 10 over the wall against the St. Cloud Rox.

Fitzer currently leads the Stingers in both home runs and RBI.

Sean Rimmer is second on the home run leaderboard with his seven home runs.

Rimmer was a late addition to the All-Star festivities as the Hawaii product also has 31 RBI this season.

Drey Dirksen rounds out the trio as he is set to participate in the Home Run Challenge for a second straight year.

Dirksen came in second place a year ago, falling to Stinger teammate Joey Walls.

With six home runs in 2023 and a .313 batting average, the four-year Stinger has yet again been a staple in the Willmar lineup.

The Home Run Challenge will take place on Monday in Bismarck with the Great Plains All-Star Game set to follow on Tuesday where the Stingers will have six participants.
