ST. CLOUD, MN.- Looking to follow up a close victory against Rochester yesterday, the Willmar Stingers did just that with a 2-0 victory over the St. Cloud Rox on Thursday.

The Stingers scored the only runs of the ballgame in the first inning as Sean Rimmer drove in the first run with help from a St. Cloud error.

In the following at-bat, Parker Stinson singled with the bases loaded to double the lead.

After that, MinnWest Technology Campus Player of the Game Chris Rofe took over.

The Stingers starter tossed six no-hit innings and a bunt-single in the seventh was the only hit he would give up on the day.

Hemponix Relief Pitcher of the Game Rylen Bayne sealed the deal in the final two innings for a shutout victory.

The Stingers and Rox will complete their two-game series on Friday.
