Duluth, Minn.—The Stingers take the first game of the series in Duluth, which puts them at the top of the Great Plains Division after the Larks loss to La Crosse.

Tyler Bosma (Miami Ohio) made his second start for the Stingers. He went five innings, giving up four hits and allowing two earned runs. Through five innings, Bosma picked up seven strikeouts.

The Stingers struck first when Sam Baier (Augustana University) scored on a Saenz fly out. 1-0 Stingers. The Huskies answered with two runs in the third on three hits. 2-1 Huskies.
Daniel Walsh (Sacramento City) came in clutch in the fourth with a two out base hit scoring Elvers and Bohning. 3-2 Stingers.

The Stingers extended the lead in the sixth when Lucas, Walsh, Trousdale and Saenz all had hits bringing in three runs. 6-2 Stingers. Jake Marsh came into pitch for the Stingers. He went the next two innings allowing one run off three hits. He picked up three strikeouts along the way. 6-3 Stingers.

Back to back triples from James Gamble (UNLV) and Baier started off the eighth. Baier scored, later in the inning off a Walsh ground ball. 8-3 Stingers. John Bezdicek (SMSU) pitched the last two innings for the Stingers. The Huskies were able to gain back two runs, but the deficit was too much. The final score was 8-3 Stingers.
