DULUTH, MN – The Willmar Stingers let one slip away in the bottom of the ninth against the Duluth Huskies, 7-6.

The Stingers held a 6-3 lead coming out of the top of the ninth when the Huskies were able to score four to win the game.

Willmar started off the game going up 5-0. Joey Walls and Scott Anderson were both able to drive home runs with doubles and Jordan Sagedahl would hit a solo shot in the inning.

Sagedahl would homer again later in the game and become the MinnWest Technology Player of the Game. He hit two homers in today’s game and scored three RBIs. Sagedahl joined the team earlier last week and six of his seven hits thus far have been for extra bases.

Duluth was able to capitalize on back-to-back walks to start the bottom of the ninth. The Huskies cycled through their order going from their lead-off batter to their last in walk-off the Stingers. Shortstop Cam Frederick hit a bases-loaded single with two outs, putting the nail in the coffin.

The loss would go to Brian Baker who couldn’t get the save while the win would go to Isaiah Piscitello who finished at the top of the ninth.

The Stingers travel to La Crosse for a two-game series for their last road trip of the regular season. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
