After arriving in Florida after a long day of travel late on Monday, George and I have taken a day off and are set to continue our Spring Training travels in the morning with a pair of stops.

The Pirates host the Twins in Bradenton tomorrow (March 4th). Former St. Cloud River Bats’ Tom Gorzelanny and Jason Jaramillo are both with Pittsburgh so hopefully we’ll be able to catch up with the two of them prior to the game. Tomorrow night the Reds play host to the Netherlands in a World Baseball Classic exhibition game in Sarasota. Former NWLers Danny Ray Herrera, Sam Lecure, Ben Jukich, and Chris Denove are all in big league camp with Cincinnati. In addition, former Thunder Bay Border Cats general manager Dan Wolfert holds a similar position in Sarasota with the Reds Florida State League (Class A) team.

That busy day will begin a six-day tour of Florida. Our current plans continue from Bradenton and Sarasota through Lakeland, Dunedin, Fort Myers, Jupiter, Port St. Lucie, and Viera before we return to Minnesota.

I’ll be back to the blog again soon!
