The La Crosse Loggers baseball club announced their plans for their 10th Winter Baseball BBQ at a press conference earlier today held at the Stoney Creek Inn, Onalaska. The Northwoods Conference Center, inside of the Stoney Creek Inn, will be the host location for the Loggers hot stove event which will take place on Thursday, December 6 with doors opening to the public at 6:00 p.m. and the program starting at 7:05 p.m.

The featured guest speaker for the 10th Winter BBQ will be a member of the 2005 La Crosse Loggers club who is currently a member of the Colorado Rockies, Jordan Pacheco. The 26-year old utility man was the leading hitter for the Rockies in 2012 and played third base, first base and saw time behind the plate.

Pacheco got use to having his name appear amongst the leading hitters in his days with the Loggers as he ranked second on the team with a .287 batting average in that 2005 season, which was the summer after his freshman year at the University of New Mexico. Pacheco also tallied 13 doubles, three homers and 33 RBI’s along with playing in 62 of the possible 64 NWL games. The Albuquerque, N.M. native enjoyed a very successful career at UNM before the Rockies selected him in the ninth round of the 2007 MLB Draft.
