Florida Gulf Coast and Willmar Stingers outfielder Michael Suchy was ranked No. 38 in the Top 50 Sophomores of Baseball America’s College Preview. Suchy hit .349 with eight home runs and 62 RBIs for the Stingers in 2012 and will return for the 2013 season. Florida Gulf Coast opens its season Feb. 15 against St. John’s.

Central Arkansas outfielder Forrestt Allday was named a preseason All-Southland Conference First Team pick, as was Stephen F. Austin’s Hunter Dozier. Both played for the Stingers in 2012.

The Northern Sun Conference listed St. Cloud State senior Scott Lieser, who pitched for the Stingers in 2011 and 2012, as a “Player to Watch” for 2013.
