The Waterloo Bucks have hired former Mankato MoonDogs Field Manager Jason Nell to manage the team for the 2010 season.

The Northwoods League announced today at a press conference at the Holiday Inn of Willmar that the city of Willmar, Minnesota will have an expansion team beginning in 2010. New team owners Ryan Voz, Marc Jerzak, and Gary Posch are pictured speaking to the crowd of about 50 people.

The Northwoods League has announced the recipients of the 2009 Rawlings Finest in the Field Award. The annual award recognizes the top fielders at each position.

The Northwoods League has implemented rules, similar to those used by some Major League organizations, that guide coaching staffs to develop pitchers over the course of a season. The new guidelines will be in effect for the 2010 Northwoods League season.

The top hitters at each position during the 2009 Northwoods League season each receive an engraved bat from Rawlings to honor their accomplishment.

Matt Pagnozzi, who played for the Madison Mallards in 2002, becomes the 59th Northwoods League player to compete in the big leagues.
