Three Huskies sent to Big League Dreams Showcase

(Duluth, MN) — The Northwoods League has announced the rosters for the 2014 Big League Dreams Showcase, which will be hosted by the Madison Mallards at Warner Park on Tuesday, August 5. 

The 2nd annual Big League Dreams Showcase will consist of a double-header featuring the top players from the Northwoods League who were selected by a panel of Major League Baseball Scouts.  The players will participate in a day of workouts in front of scouts which will be followed by the double-header. Three Huskies will play in the second of the two games: P Dylan Barrow, INF Keach Ballard and OF Austin Darby.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwoods League Foundation.  The Northwoods League Foundation utilizes the game of baseball to enrich the quality of life for children and families with an enduring and caring focus on Northwoods League communities. 

Barrow was selected by the New York Yankees in the MLB draft in June but will return to the University of Tampa for another season. He is 0-3 with a 7.27 ERA in 38.1 innings. He has struck out 40 batters as well. Ballard has played in 50 games this year and is hitting .306 with a team-leading 4 home runs and 35 RBI. Darby had a late arrival to Duluth and has hit at a .275 clip with 6 RBI in 10 games.
