A pair of Kansas Jayhawks will make their way north this summer. Teammates INF/OF Rudy Karre and INF David Kyriacou are set to join the Duluth Huskies for the 2016 season.
Rudy Karre, a Peoria, AZ native, is currently competing in his freshman campaign with the Jayhawks. So far this season, Karre has batted .271 with 11 RBIs. He leads the club with 18 walks and is tied for the home run lead with 2. Before his time at Kansas, Rudy was a four year varsity player at Liberty High School and a 3-year All-District and All-State player.
David Kyriacou, hailing from Oakland, CA, is also a freshman at Kansas. Kyriacou has made 17 appearances for the Jayhawks including 6 starts. In high school, David lettered all four years and received First-Team All-WACC honors at shortstop in 2014 and 2015 and at second base in 2013.
The Huskies open the 2016 season on the road and return to Wade Stadium on Saturday, June 4th for their home opener against the Mankato MoonDogs.
