The Duluth Huskies (4-1) lose to Mankato MoonDogs (4-0) in home opener at Wade Stadium.

The Huskies struck early with Daniel Gardner hitting a double. Nic Strasser lands on 1st because of an error by the 3rd baseman, Eric Peterson. Strasser then capitalizes on a wild pitch, scoring the first run of the game. In the top of the 5th, the MoonDogs tied it up with 1 run scored by Drew Fearing. By the top of the 6th, the MoonDogs took the lead on a Jake Shepski double. Grant Farley scored Carter Hanford to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th. Steven Neutzling then hit a single to score Farley and take back the lead. In the top of the 8th the MoonDogs put up 2 more runs to take the final lead of the night.

Ryan Tapani went 7 innings with 7 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Brick Paskiewicz earned the save for the MoonDogs, while Alex Ferguson gets the loss. Kevin Yarabinec receives the win for the MoonDogs.
