The Duluth Huskies (4-4) lost to the St. Cloud Rox (4-4) on Monday afternoon during Education Day.

St. Cloud Rox got to work quickly scoring in the first inning from Denis Karas on an error. Karas later scores again in the top of the 5th on a single from Ben Petersen. In the top of the 6th, the Rox started to gain a bigger lead by scoring 2 on a single from Ricky Ramirez and Trevor Putzig scores on an error. Mark Skonieczy rockets a homerun, to score 4 more runs in the top of the 7th.  In the top of the 8th inning, the Rox got their bats going more, scoring 5 on 4 hits. To finish the game in the 9th, the Rox put up 1 more run, to make the final score 14. Huskies remained scoreless throughout the game.

Marcus Frederickson received the loss for the Huskies tossing 4.2 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and 1 strikeout. Drew Mullinax relieved Frederickson for 1.1 innings, while Jake Turner made his Huskies debut for 1.2 innings, before being relieved by Alex Ferguson. Austin Dubsky earns the win for the Rox going 6 innings with 4 hits, 0 runs, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Aaron Rozek gets the save for the Rox.

The Huskies are on the road Wednesday and Thursday at Waterloo to face the Bucks. Then they’re back at home to face the Willmar Stingers Friday and Saturday. Robotics Night is Friday, with teams from the Northland area gates open at 5:35, first pitch is 6:35.
