The Duluth Huskies (10-11) beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks (10-9) 9-8 in a close game at Wade Stadium.

The Woodchucks struck first with Jonathan Foster hitting a double in the top of the 2nd, and Austin Blakeley hitting a single to hit Foster in shortly after. In the bottom of the 3rd the Huskies really started to get to work scoring 5 despite having 2 outs already. The Woodchucks put up one during the top of the 4th with a homerun from Steve Passatempo. Passatempo later hit a triple in the top of the 6th and he later scored on a fielder’s choice. The Huskies had another big inning in the bottom of the 6th by putting up 3, maintaining the lead 8-3. The 8th was a big inning for the Woodchucks scoring 4, including a double from Passatempo, leaving him a single away from hitting the cycle, which he later hit in the top of the 9th.  The Huskies put up 1 more run in the bottom of the 8th to make the final score 9-8.

Logan Browning earns the win for the Huskies tossing 5 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Drew Mullinax came in to relieve Browning pitching 2.2 innings with 7 hits, 4 runs, 0 walks, and 0 strikeouts. Wade Regas made an appearance, but Nate Hadley came in shortly after tossing 1.1 innings with 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, and 1 strikeout. Hadley earned the save. Eli Kraus receives the loss for the Woodchucks going 6 innings with 11 hits, 8 runs, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts. Connor Brewster tossed an inning with one hit and Kevin Bolder pitch 0.2 innings with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Evy Ruibal would finish the game for the Woodchucks tossing 0.1 innings with 1 hit and 1 strikeout.

The Huskies are back in action Wednesday to face the Wisconsin Woodchucks for thunderstix giveaway night. First pitch is set for 6:35 and gate open at 5:35. The Huskies will continue their home stand Thursday and Friday against the Mankato MoonDogs.
