The Duluth Huskies (11-12) lost to the Mankato MoonDogs (14-9) Thursday night.

The game started as a pitching duel between Payton Robinson and Nate Jones. The first runs of the game didn’t happen until the top of the 5th by the MoonDogs. Jordan Washam cleared the bases with a massive double, scoring David Metzgar, Gavin Wehby, and Jake Roberts for a total of 3 runs. The MoonDogs added 2 to their lead in the top of the 6th with a couple of singles from Drew Fearing and Metzgar. The Huskies never answered with any runs. The final score was 5-0 MoonDogs.

Payton Robinson received his first loss of the season tossing 4.1 innings with 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts. Jesse Fruge relieved Robinson pitching 3.2 innings allowing 7 hits with 2 runs, 1 walk, and 4 strikeouts. Wade Regas finished the game for the Huskies tossing 1 inning. Nate Jones earned the win for the MoonDogs going 7 innings with 5 hits, 3 walks, and 7 strikeouts. Kevin Yarabinec and Cody O’Brien each tossed and inning for the MoonDogs to finish the game.

The Huskies are back in action Friday night for Minnesota Vikings Night. Some Vikings cheerleaders and the mascot Viktor will be here. Fans wearing Vikings gear will receive a discounted ticket.
