The Duluth Huskies (0-2) efforts in the 9th, fall short to the Waterloo Bucks (2-0) in the second game of the 2nd half.

Both teams got off to a quick start, each scoring in the first. The Bucks scored on a sacrifice fly from Adam McGinnis to put 1 on the board in the top of the 1st. The Huskies came back swinging, scoring 2 in the bottom of the inning on a triple from Reid Long and a sacrifice fly from Justin Ambrosino. The Bucks added 1 to their score with Taylor Boyd scoring on a single from Tyler Curtis in the top of the 3rd. With the Bucks scoring 1 more in the top of the 4th, to make the score 4-2. It was in the top of the 5th inning that the Bucks really started to run away with the game, scoring 6. The Huskies added 2 to their score in the bottom of the 8th on a single from Mitch Reeves. Later the Huskies started a little rally in the bottom of the 9th to score 3, but fell just short to the Bucks 9-7 for the final score.

Michael Bruhin made his Huskies debut tossing 4.1 innings allowing 6 hits with 5 runs, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts, he earns the loss for the Huskies. David Kroger tossed 0.2 innings allowing 2 hits with 4 runs, 3 walks, and 1 strikeout. Alex Ferguson and Wade Regas also made an appearance for the Huskies. It would be Quentin Longrie who would finish the game for the Huskies tossing 1.0 innings with 0 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts. Jared Crescentini earns the win for the Bucks, tossing 5.0 innings allowing 4 hits with 2 runs, 4 walks, and 3 strikeouts.

The Huskies are back in action Friday night to face the Eau Claire Express. It’s Daddy/ Daughter Date Night at Wade Stadium sponsored by Arthur’s Formal Wear and Epic Selfiebooth and DJ Service.
