The Duluth Huskies (19-23) lost to the Mankato MoonDogs (25-16) Monday night in Mankato.

The MoonDogs struck first scoring Marcus Pingleton in the bottom of the 2nd. In the bottom of the 3rd, the MoonDogs inched further away from the Huskies scoring 2 on a double from David Metzgar and a single from Pingleton. The Huskies didn’t stay quite for long, scoring 5 in the top of the 4th, including Matt Brown’s 4th home run of the season, to score 3. The game remained deadlocked at 5 until the bottom of the 7th when the MoonDogs scored 7. The MoonDogs would finalize their score in the bottom of the 8th scoring 3 more runs to put them at 15. The final score was 15-5 MoonDogs.

Drew Molin was the starter for the Huskies tossing 5.0 innings allowing 7 hits with 5 runs, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Ian Schwickert receives the loss for the Huskies after tossing 1.1 innings with 4 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, and 0 strikeouts. Wade Regas and David Kroger finished the game for the Huskies. Robby Evans was the starter for the MoonDogs tossing 3.1 innings with 2 hits, 4 runs, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Brian Gadsby receives the win after tossing 1.1 innings.

The Huskies are back at Wade Stadium Tuesday night for St. Patties Day in July to face the La Crosse Loggers for the first time this season. Fans will be able to enjoy green beer for $3 while supplies last. Also fans dressed in all green will receive discounted ticket prices. First pitch is slated for 6:35 with gates opening at 5:35.
