The Duluth Huskies (26-36) beat the Rochester Honkers (18-44) Wednesday night at Wade Stadium.

With the win, the Huskies move to 6-0 against the Rochester Honkers on the season.

For the second straight day, the Honkers jumped to an early lead verse the Huskies; and for the second day, the Huskies battled back to capture the win. The Honkers scored 2 runs in the 1st; the first run came on a Joey Czarake ground out and the second on a Drew Ellis single. The Honkers added to that lead in the top of the 2nd when Josh Hauser scored on a Kyle Kasser double.

Heading into the bottom of the 4th the Huskies were trailing the Honkers 0-3. The Huskies first run came when Dillon Paulson scored on a Reid Long double. The next batter, Matt Brown, followed with a massive homerun to tie the game. The Huskies took the lead in the bottom of the 5th when Casey Moses stole second base and ended up scoring when the Honkers catcher committed a costly error. The Huskies scored their final run in the bottom of the 6th when Brown scored on a Daniel Amaral single. At the end of the game the score read Honker 3 Huskies 5.

Corey Gaconi got the start and earned the win for the Huskies. Gaconi tossed 7.0 innings allowing 3 run on 8 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1. Marcus Frederickson replaced Gaconi and tossed 1.0 inning allowing 0 runs on 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 1. Quentin Longrie pitched the 9th inning for the Huskies and earned his 6th save of the season after allowing 0 runs on 0 hits while walking 2 and striking out 1.

The star players for the Huskies tonight were Matt Brown who went 2-4 with a homerun, double, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBIs; Casey Moses who went 2-3 with a run scored, walk, and stolen base; and Corey Gaconi for his strong pitching performance.

The Huskies start a 6 game away stand tomorrow in Willmar. They return home on Thursday, August 11 to battle the Rochester Honkers. First pitch from Wade Stadium is scheduled for 6:35.
