Late Rally Lifts Huskies Over Loggers

The Duluth Huskies (27-39) defeated the La Crosse Loggers (34-31) Sunday evening at the Lumberyard.

What started as a pitching duel between Drew Molin and Taylor Blatch wouldn’t be broken until the bottom of the 5th when the Loggers scored on a home run from Gavin Johns to score 2 and take the lead from the Huskies. The Huskies didn’t break through until the top of the 9th starting with a leadoff double from Carter Hanford. Things quickly got out of hand for the Loggers as the Huskies continued to get on base. With bases loaded still, Dillion Paulson came up to bat to hit a single to right to score Brett Milazzo and Brendan McClary to take the lead from the Loggers 3-2. The Huskies took out all 3 batters faced in the bottom of the 9th to get the W.
