The Duluth Huskies (30-41) battled back and earned a victory over the Eau Claire Express (44-27) at Carson Park Saturday night.

The Duluth Huskies jumped out to an early lead in the top of the 1st when Tyler Duex scored on a Dillon Paulson double. The Huskies added to their lead in the top of the 2nd when Daniel Amaral hit a 2 run homerun, his first homerun of the season.

The Express would battle back however scoring 1 run in the bottom of the 2nd, 1 run in the bottom of the 3rd, 1 run in the bottom of the 5th, and 2 runs in the bottom of the 6th. This gave the Express a 5-3 lead heading into the top of the 8th.

The 8th inning saw some “fireworks” from the Huskies as they took a 6-5 lead on a Paulson 3 run homerun.

Drew Molin got the start for the Huskies and tossed 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits while walking 1 and striking out 4. Molin was replaced by Ryan Cunningham, who in his Huskies debut tossed 1.0 innings allowing 2 runs on 2 hits while walking 1 and striking out 1. David Kroger replaced Cunningham and earned the victory after tossing 3.0 innings allowing 0 runs on 1 hit while walking 1 and striking out 2.

Dillon Paulson had a nice night at the plate for the Huskies going 2-4 with a double, homerun, and 4 RBIs.

The Huskies play their season finale tomorrow night at Carson Park in Eau Claire. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 with Ryan Tapani taking the mound for the Huskies.
