The Duluth Huskies announce the addition of three freshman UCLA Bruins. LHP Nick Scheidler, INF Chase Strumpf, and INF Jack Stronach have been added to the 2017 roster.
The Encinitas, CA native, Nick Scheidler has just started his freshman season at UCLA. He’s thrown in 9.2 innings and has a 5.59 ERA. In high school, Scheidler was ranked No. 74 in the 2016 Perfect Game USA Top High School Prospects in the state of California. He was also named 2016 Rawlings/Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American.
Chase Strumpf, a Ladera Ranch, CA native, has started in 14 games so far for the Bruins this season. Strumpf has a slugging percentage of .349 and has 2 homeruns. The infielder was ranked No. 31 in the 2016 Perfect Game USA Top High School Prospects in the state of California. Led the U.S. 15U National Team to the Pan Am Championship back in 2013.
Jack Stronach, originally from La Mesa, CA, has played in 6 games so far with 1 start for the Bruins. He has a batting average of .200 and .400 slugging percentage early in the season. Ranked No. 180 in the 2016 Perfect Game USA Top High School Prospects in the state of California.
