The Duluth Huskies (14-16) weren’t able to overcome an early deficit and dropped the first game of their three-game road trip to the Bismarck Larks (15-16) by a score of 11-2.

The Larks jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead after scoring five runs in the third inning. Huskies’ starter Ryan Cunningham (1-2, 2.92) pitched into the third but ultimately went two innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and two walks.

The Huskies were able to grab two runs in the sixth inning when Chase Strump grounded out to bring in Camryn Williams and Dean Nevarez reached on a dropped third strike to score Gabe Knowles.

The Huskies will send Nick Scheidler to the mound tomorrow to make his first start for the team. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
