The Huskies started off strong in the first inning taking a 2-0 lead behind the bats of Isaac Collins and Luke Roskam, but all night it seemed like the Loggers were here to fight back. Ryan Tapani made his return to the Huskies lineup for the first time since 2015. He was consistent and was there to work going four innings allowing three hits and only two runs.
Like previous nights the Huskies used the middle innings to add some insurance runs and get the bats going. Catcher Dean Nevarez led off the top of the fifth inning with a big homerun over the left field porch, his second of the year. Isaac Collins had a big night as well notching three hits for the second night in the row.
The lead held until the bottom of the ninth when the Loggers kept their composure and loaded the bases. With the help of a infield hit, sacrifice fly, and a sold out Copeland Park the Loggers completed the comeback to hand the Huskies their first loss of the second half.
The Huskies are now 2-1 in the second half and are back in action agaianst the Loggers tomorrow night, first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 at Copeland Park.
