The Duluth Huskies (8-5) and St. Cloud Rox (4-9) dueled it out on Thursday night at Joe Faber Field in St. Cloud, MN.

Starters Ryan Tapani (1-0, 1.03) and Kyle Boser (1-1, 2.20) battled it out all night on the mound. Tapani pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just six hits and no walks while striking out seven. Boser would go six no-hit innings, allowing just three hits and two walks.

The Huskies finally broke a scoreless tie in the eighth. Alec Abercrombie led off with a four-pitch walk. Jack Stronach then put down a bunt, but the throw from the pitcher Bobby Gauvreau sailed over first base and put runners at second and third.

The next batter Gabe Knowles laced a double to left to score two. The Huskies would add three more in the eighth on a Chase Strumpf double and Kyle Hubbuch sac-fly.

The Huskies win was their first over St. Cloud this season and still have a crack against the Rox at home tomorrow at 6:35. Gates open at 5:35 for Rocket Cup giveaway night sponsored by Waste Management.
